Siberians and us.

A Little bit about us and our cattery:

We are a small, homebased cattery. TICA registered. Our cats are pedigreed, show quality, health certified, healthy, and simply gorgeous.

We are a new Siberian Cat cattery and are really excited to start breeding the most purrfect Siberians we have ever seen. We are a family of cat lovers.

We did a year of research before finding the perfect breeder in Russia to transport our kittens. What I love about this breed is that they are so good with kids. We have three boys and needed a breed that was going to get along with the entire family and not just pick a favorite human. We love having people over and my best friend is extremely allergic to cats. They are considered a hypo-allergenic cat breed due to far less reduced levels of Fel d 1 protein sequence in their genes compared to other breeds. That protein is what causes the allergic reaction in humans.

About the breed:

Siberians have a long history with the earliest known reference dating to 1000 AD. A slow-maturing breed, the average Siberian reaches its full grandeur around five years of age, so they stay “kitten like” longer. Sweet! These intelligent cats are natural problem solvers (as you read my story about Caesar on top). Their semi-longhair coat varies with the season. In winter, they have a thick, full, triple coat that would have protected them from the elements in native Russia. In summer, they shed their winter coat for a shorter, less dense variant. The Siberian is well suited to any home with people who will love them and comb their coat weekly. That’s easy, they love to be brushed and petted and absolutely adored. They are affectionate, playful, and curious.

Siberians are a lively, yet highly affectionate breed. Playful in nature, they are happy chasing a feather toy but love just as much to follow family members wherever they go. Siberians make wonderful companions and love to snuggle on cold winter nights. Although they love attention, they are not considered needy and will wait patiently to spend time with their family. Their calm nature makes them a good candidate for serving as a therapy cat. (TICA)

Our story

It all began with my love of cats. My family has ALWAYS had a cat. My dad is like a cat dad for sure and we all inherited this extreme love for cats from him. My very first cat that I remember having is a Siberian. His name was Caesar. This is back when I lived in the Ukraine and my family lived with my grandparents. Caesar was SO smart. He was potty trained on the toilet! Yep, taught himself. When grandma drew our bath, we had to be careful because we often found Caesar in the bathtub swimming to his heart’s content. As you guessed it, our Caeser is named after him.

When I got married my husband gifted me a Siamese kitten and we’ve had a kitten or two ever since. My husband had encouraged me to get a full breed cat for 18 years now and I’m glad he insisted on it because that little idea has birthed this little dream. and now slowly coming to reality. I’m so excited.
